The Heat Season

My apartment is notoriously warm. Alot of the time I actually open my window to even it out because of the heat. I do not have a thermostat, so I’m at the mercy of the pipes. My sister’s place is only warm when she cooks, which luckily is alot.
Lots of older apartments in [...]

Retro Movie Showings

Retro Movie Showings – Google calendar
I love to see past movies in the movie theater. There are a number of theaters in New York City that show them.
Here is a link to a Google calendar of upcoming showings. I will do my best to keep it updated. Please contact me if you have [...]

Grocery Shopping (I’ll admit, I miss self-checkout)

It has taken me over a year, but I’ve FINALLY found a grocery store I like. It’s either a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus right if I time it right.

Skating at Bryant Park

It has begun!

I was checking facebook when I realized that the race had begun.  I turned [...]

Washington Square Park

Beautiful Washington Square Park.

Garden of Eden

It does exist, and it’s on Montague Street in Brooklyn.

Wall of olive oil.

Wall of tea.

Continuation of the wall of tea.

Shelf of extracts.

LOTS of cheese.

More cheese.

Even MORE cheese.

Marinated octopus.

Atlantic Antic

There are several street fairs throughout the summer, but the Atlantic Antic is HUGE.
Lots of great food, but also lots of people.
We also got to see Les Sans Culottes, which was a great bonus.

I survived my first drive from Brooklyn to Manhattan!

So after our 8 day road trip, all that was left to do was turn in the rental car.  I offered to drop them off then park the car near my apartment, so I could drive it in Sunday morning.
I planned on getting up earlier, but I finally got moving around 10:30am.  I went to [...]
